Modern calipers for disc brakes are like clamps for your rotor. Each time you brake, they put pressure on the brake rotors via the caliper’s brake pads and one or more pistons. The calipers use brake fluid from the master cylinder and pedal to extend the piston and slow the vehicle. The main symptom of a failing caliper is leaking brake fluid. When you replace calipers, it’s important to also purchase new brake fluid and brake cleaner. Get your new calipers here.
